Christianity is founded and focused on the centrality of who Jesus Christ is.
Without Jesus Christ, there is no Christianity.
2. Jesus Christ himself said that He would build His Church upon the revelation of who He is. Matthew 16:18
3. Jesus is the Cornerstone of His Church.
4. The Church has continued to grow since Jesus death, resurrection and ascension.
5. Why is this important?
People form and arrive at their viewpoints and opinions based on many influencing factors.
These may include their cultural background, parenting, religious upbringing, educational inputs, family and peer pressures, personal experiences and interpretations, reflections, as well as other factors. It is important to be mindful that these are influencing factors when considering a viewpoint that may not immediately conform to a currently held worldview or mindset.
Point on how views are formed.
Rather than relying only on views shaped by such influences, why not more directly and personally evaluate the claims Jesus Christ made about himself?
Is Jesus who he says he is?
A personal opinion should be arrived at.
In this module, three claims Jesus made about himself as being God are examined, drawing on the New Testament Scriptures for his (translated) words (which are printed in red font in many Bibles).
What claims does Jesus make?
The claims made must either be false, delusional or true.
As these claims having bearing on understanding who Jesus Christ said he is, they ought to be taken into account on any consideration of Christianity.
As CS Lewis once stated, Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or a Legend.
Quotation reference and video/audio to be found.
These claims by Jesus of being God, biblically support the foundational tenet of Christianity attesting to the Deity of Jesus Christ.
